| Resume and Cover letter |

- Be honest, and put your best foot forward
- Do some research about our company and show that effort in your cover letter
- Show that you have given some thought into your career and tell us how you plan to chart it out at an organization like Vertex
- If you have prior work experience outside of school work, highlight it (of course keep in mind that it has to be pertinent to the job to which you are applying!)
- Use creativity and humor to stand out. (Use it wisely!)

| Interview |

- Again, be honest, and put your best foot forward
- Ask questions, show us you have looked us up
- We know you're trying to showcase your strengths, but be forthright about your weaknesses as well (we know you're human!)
- Arrive in-person/online on time in an interview appropriate attire
- Make sure you have all the documents you need; resume, printed job description, list of questions. (We want to see that you are organized)
- Ask questions (yes, we mentioned that before but it's important!)
- "I don't know the answer to that question" is an acceptable answer (obviously not if the question is "What is your GPA?")
- Relax and have fun.
