SharePoint is the content and document collaboration tool provided by Microsoft. It provides a single, integrated location where users can efficiently collaborate with their groups, search for required information, manage content and workflow, etc.
Vertex has created a Center of Excellence to provide services in SharePoint 2003 and MOSS (Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.The services encompass:
- Installation and Configuration: We install and configure SharePoint 2003 and MOSS server for our customers.
- Conversion: We have a proven track record in converting several sites from various technologies to SharePoint 2003 and MOSS. We have developed Best Practices for the conversion process.
- Migration to newer version: With the introduction of MOSS, sites developed in SharePoint 2003 are being migrated to MOSS to leverage the benefits that are integral to the latter. Vertex has expertise to perform migration using Gradual Upgrade as well as Manual migration processes.
- Customization: SharePoint provides in-built web parts option that helps customize the user interface of the sites. Vertex provides customization using web parts, smart parts, and the SharePoint Object Model that helps develop web parts using .NET. SharePoint Designer is used for designing the sites.
- Workflow:Workflow is an in-built feature in MOSS. For sites that were developed using SharePoint 2003, Vertex developed the required workflow using .NET code.
- Custom Application: Vertex develops custom applications and sites in SharePoint. These applications/sites are built based on customer requirements leveraging all the in-built SharePoint features such as security, workflow, document management, content maintenance, etc.
