Twinsburg company opens office in Oman

Vertex Computer Systems Inc., a Twinsburg information technology outsourcing services company, has opened an office in Oman. The office, to employ five, will serve financial, energy and manufacturing companies in the Middle East, where Vertex says there is growing demand for IT services.

Vertex employs 250 and also has offices in Boston, Baltimore, suburban Cincinnati and Hyderabad, India.

Twinsburg, OH, March 26, 2008- Vertex Computer Systems, Inc, a Twinsburg, OH based IT outsourcing services provider, is proud to announce that it has been assessed as a Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level 3 organization. CMMI® is recognized as the standard for independent benchmarking within industry for maturity in critical technical and managerial processes. The CMMI® model was developed by government, industry and the Carnegie Mellon® Software Engineering Institute, a federally funded research and development center, to integrate multiple capability maturity models into a single improvement framework for use by organizations pursuing all-encompassing process improvement. CMMI® ranks the maturity of an organization in an increasing scale of 1 through 5. A Maturity Level 3 company has to demonstrate that it has well established and repeatable processes in the areas of software development and project management.

Vertex is one of the few companies in Ohio that has been assessed as a CMMI Maturity Level 3 organization. The assessment was conducted by an independent world leader in CMMI appraisal Trimentus Technologies Pvt. Ltd. The Lead Assessor was Ms. Tachanun Kangwantrakool from Bangkok, Thailand.
